  I'm having the same issue, as is my friend. I verified integrity, reinstalled, deleted everything I could find D:SW related from my computer and then installed clean, and updated my video drivers.

  Having the same issue. I edited the options file to play the intro video. Video played fine. Still locks up before the menu screen opens with a solid black screen.

  Having the same issue. Tried reinstalling and restarting. Also checked the integrity of game files. Only happening since the most recent patch for me. Just getting a cmd prompt window on boot then nothing

  Experiencing this as well. Uninstalled, reinstalled, updated GPU drivers, verified integrity. Nothing has made a difference.

  My game stopped working after the latest Steam update around 3-4 days ago.
  After I uninstalled and reinstalled the game system, it started working again.

  now the game don't launch it
  I have try uninstall, reinstall, verify integrity of files... always nothing
  I have try folder option.iniwith modification directx opengl and etc
  Always nothing
  I can't playing

  8/27/25 here. I'm seeing this issue stem all the back in 2022, not long after I bought it. I had this game on a laptop, and bought it shortly after it came to early access. I was able to play it fine back then, but sadly it was forgotten in my library for a few years. I now have a new rig, a proper desktop (Windows 11, 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700F (2.10 GHz), Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti) I tried a fresh install, the suggested fixes from both google and the steam forums, (Aka, Create options.ini and setting 'Driver=DirectX') and still the same. Ive tried verifying files, and im at my wits end. How does an issue from 3 YEARS ago still exist with no solution? Respectfully, If I had under 2 hours in it from my first time playing I would have refunded this game. With the sincerest of apologies at my tone, The Pale Knight.

  I am having immense difficulty launching Dune Spice Wars via steam. When attempting to launch the game opens briefly to a white screen for a split second then closes. I have attempted the following:
  Restarting my laptop
  Verifying integrity of game files and ensuring no other programs disrupt.
  Launching D4X as administrator (game launched twice without multiplayer functionality but no longer launches at all)
  Following all directions in discord server including removing and reinstalling windows C++ redistributable, adjusting game files ect.
  Disabling antivirus software.
  Adjusted windows settings to force launch on both NIVIDA Drivers and Intel Drivers.
  Clean reinstalled my drivers.
  Uninstalled and reinstalled the game.
  Factory resetting my device.
  
  My laptop specifications meet all listed requirements, and all other STEAM games function normally leading me to believe this is a game bug not an error on my end, however I have two friends who are able to play the game with no issue.
